Chris Poulos
World Champion Bicycle Stunt Rider

Chris Poulos was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1971. The youngest of 5 siblings, he was a mischievous child. At age 2 Chris disappeared from the backyard of his parent's home. After an extensive search by his family, neighbors, and the police, he was finally found over a mile away riding his tricycle down the middle of a busy avenue. At Age 3, Chris' parents had to pull him off the roof of their two-story home. At age 5 Chris got his hands on his father's circular saw, snuck into the attic, and cut a gaping hole in the roof of the house. At age 6, Chris finally found an outlet for his boundless energy. He started performing stunts on a bicycle!

Although Chris has had great success in many sports, he is best known for winning the 1991 Bicycle Stunt World Championships in Denmark at age 20. He also won the 1990 and 1991 National Bicycle Stunt Championships in the United States. Chris retired from competition in 1992 to attend college at the University of Rhode Island. In 1995, Chris graduated with honors, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. That same year, the sport of Bicycle Stunt Riding had a resurgence.

After college Chris returned to the sport of bicycle stunt riding. Upon returning to the sport, he spent most of his time performing live demonstrations at fairs, festivals, NBA, and college halftimes. In 2002, Chris decided to make a comeback. He came out of retirement and won his first competition back, which was held in England. Although he did win a few competitions, Chris had limited success. Injuries kept him sidelined for most of his comeback.

In April 2006, injuries finally caught up to Chris and he retired from competition for good. Although Chris was sad to walk away from competing in the sport he loves, he was extremely satisfied with his career, having competed in 413 competitions, and winning 85 of them. Chris was also happy to finish on a high note, pulling off a perfect Double Decade as his last competitive stunt. Although Chris was a fierce competitor, his true enjoyment has always been performing live demonstrations.

Besides his professional accomplishments as a bicycle rider, Chris also has a Black Belt in karate, is an accomplished snowboarder, and is a nationally ranked marathon runner.

For the past several years Chris has worked diligently to become one of the most sought after youth motivational speakers in the country. He enjoys motivating young people to lead better and safer lives. Chris believes, "if we all follow our conscience and common sense, the world will become a better place!"
